We have two types of training – ongoing employee training and apprentice training.
This involves developing awareness of the resources available to ensure employees remain up-to-date and can access information as required.
It includes using the personnel within the business with experience to pass on their knowledge to others and involves attending off-site training and courses to compliment new technology, tools and products.
All tradesmen are qualified as Automotive Electricians and also hold Air-conditioning Certificates as required by the Australian Refrigeration Council.
Kojonup Auto Electrics is currently training our 11th apprentice, all of whom have been from the local district.
The training involves a 3 ½ year commitment for employment and onsite training and support for the apprentice to attend studies at training institutions in Perth for up to 8 weeks a year.
At the conclusion we have qualified and experienced staff, working to a standard that we require and with experience in our business. At least 2 further years of working in the industry are needed to consolidate learned skills and we aim to employ the newly qualified apprentices in this business to achieve this and of course to ensure qualified staff.
